Authority SS question
lol too true. hrmmm, ok. . .saying it in that way does make sense. something i'll have to think about once I get the under hood bushings installed and I see how it feels. I haven't installed the clutch-block yet but thats my next step after the bushings.
on a side note...i drove my friends 05 mustang and his shifter nob was loose (as in you could flick it and it would spin in circles
)...it was a PIA to shift with.

there is none if you use it like any ol' shifter, but if you bought it to work the shifter faster (and in this instance faster is harder too) you are just forcing everything to work rather than letting it work. I would be willing to bet you shifts don't get any faster, just that the throw for your arm is shorter. any faster and you are pushing the transmission too hard, it's already a weak point on the car. I doubt this is the case for you, otter, but I am sure you can see where I am going...
I don't know if they still make them or what but I recomend it.
that's the one thing that I would consider positive, the shifter bent towards you. other than that I'd have to try it and like it before I'd put it in. I've driven lots of manual tranny cars, some with SS's and some without, and this shifter is plenty short for me stock
I have the authority setup and love it, One thing i hated about it was their overall height of the shiftknob, but with the authority setup its a bit lower. I'm a smaller person and the throw doesn't bother me as far as "reaching" too far. I like the setup, I also have kartboy shifterbase bushings and I kept the underhood bushings stock because I had the brass ones in there and no matter how much i took them out to grease and such they eventually got stuck in there and I had to use a bearing puller to remove it. PITA...
I just wasn't a fan of the HUGE chrome shiftknob the authority one came with so I run the stock one but its getting a bit loose so its spins when i shift too fast. Time to pick up something or have something machined at work...

even shifting fast, if you revs are matched correctly, isn't usually a problem for the transmission. It's when you start forcing things to work, strong arming it into gear faster than it CAN go, that create that additional wear.
I don't want to replace my transmission after 100,000 miles because I've ****ed it all up shifting too fast. the tranny sucks and I've decreased amount of play in the system dramatically already.
like I said, I can't say I wouldn't get one. I'm just fine with it how it is, and would have to drive it and see if it was an "improvement" for me
