hey anybody around chicago area knows how to and would be able to strip my carbon hood from its clear coat !!!!its fading and i just dont know how to do it, let me know if you can and how much you would charge me for it. thanks in advance!!!!!

 

I actually just did it last nigh to mine and put it back on today. It was fairly easy.

If I had it to do over again I would just call a paint shop and ask them how much it would cost for them to just clear coat the hood, you can do all the prep work by yourself, I mean they will have to do some prep before it goes in the booth.

But all I did was just use 600 grit wetsand paper and did the whole hood till it was a grey finish, it will take you about an hour. Just pop the hood and tape off your fenders and headlights cause you dont want to wetsand that. Then once that is done just run it over to the paint shop. They shouldnt charge to much, I had a buddy do it and sure its got some dirt spots in it but I am gonna wetsand it some more tomorrow and buff it out.

Thats how I did it, I would make sure though that you do it the way the guy who is gonna spray it wants it. Really thats where all your time is, the prep...
