insurance question

im currently looking into buying a 2004 ralliart 4dr sedan and i havnt had time to get to my insurance agency to ask how much the insurance would cost... i tried the online quotes but they seem rediculous....

can anyone let me know what the probable insurance would be for a 19 year old driver with no points, tickets, accidents or any negative things on record... and with the good grades discount that some companies give would be?

Unfortunately, there is no way we could tell you what rate your insurance company is going to offer you.

No matter where you go, insurance for a single 19-y-o male is going to be ridiculous. It doesn't matter if your record is spotless. Collect a few tickets, and they'll drop you entirely.

I remember when I was in my teens, paying as much for a year of insurance as I had for the car I was driving.

its all about money. u want to drive? pay us.
Insurance should not be private. It should be government run. Though I suppose in the states the government would suck you dry, too.

I don't know how Canadian car insurance works, but when I was 19 it was a painful $2000 a year for full coverage, but two years and a change of insurance company later I'm sitting at about $800 a year. Good luck, it could be a lot worse.

Edit: With clean record.

Insurance will be high. I'm out in Ypsilanti, and I've never been able to get my insurance below about $140/month (I'm 27). Our generation of Lancers are expensive to insure (for reasons that seem absurd to me), plus, insurance is more expensive in Michigan than most other states.

I'm 19, full coverage under my parents (thank God) through allstate,

I have no tickets on my record or accidents where I was at fault (I got hit head on by a drunk driver last august, but I wasnt at fault so it didnt change my rates or anything)

I have discounts for the following, good grades, state sponsored drivers education program, and I went through a drug and alcohol course to lower my rates.

with the good record and all the discounts, I'm right at $800 every 6 months. Luckily my parents still pay for half since I got college bills to pay lol.

I'm also a full-time college student, 21 in september, but with 1 speeding ticket on my record.

I'm on my parents' insurance (STATE FARM), and I only pay about $114/MO. I think I have the good grades discount as well.

More info on the alcohol/drug course to lower rates?

Thanks

yeah, but you gotta understand these are all ball park figures, depending on location, other cars under your parents plan and your parents themselves driving history, plus other multitudes of variables you can figure to be paying around 130 a month more or less.

again this is just speculation, you should call your agent and get a quote, there are way too many things that go into insurance rates for you to take any price given on here a solid evidence
