Glovebox Rattle

Concern : all model from lancer and outlander 2003 to 2006.

I've received a lot of e-mail about how to fix the glovebox rattle, so i've decided to make a thread with pictures on it.

First, to make sure that the noise comes from the glovebox, just test drive the car, when you hear the noise, just open the door. If the noise stops, you know the problem is the glovebox.

To fix the rattle, you just have to open the door of the glovebox. Take a cutter or something like that and cut the little lip of plastic on the both side of the door.

This is where the lip is located :

There's no need to cut it completly, just cut 1 or 2 mm width from high to bottom.

When it's done, just close slowly the door and watch if the lip scratch again against the frame. If yes cut 1 or 2 mm more.

Test drive and it should be done.

i have other rattles coming from the passengerside somewhere. I also have some noise coming from underneath the drivers side now, but i put my foot up there every time it annoys me and kick it, and it stops. lol.
