Okay I found out a bit of new info today on the ECU problem. Ralliarts made after May 3, 2005 do have a different ECU. The ones made before that time were recalled due to emissions problems. So my only option is to find a used one ...........somewhere.........maybe

It is because the 04 ECU's made the cars too fast.

so this might be why the Mivec kicks in at 4000rpm then...

Emissions will play into it alittle bit, but my main guess would be fuel efficiency. With the 04 if I go over 72-73mph on the highway I go into the mivec lobes and my gas economy goes out the window, I clocked it on a 270 mile trip once, all highway, I got 32mpg staying under mivec with cruise control on, 28mpg with mivec using cruise control.

Also realize that the 06 is about 80lbs heavier than the 04.

so basically, if you have an 04 ralliart, you have the better of the bunch (besides the 09 obviously)...

Stylistically, the front is very lacking.

I like the old RA because it shows how much power lil ol 4 cylinder cars can have WITHOUT a turbo

The 04 and 05 are pretty much the same aside from the ecu.

Here, our track is 1000 ft instead of 1/4 mile.
My 04 would run the 1000 foot with high 12's ET at 83 mph.
This one, with the add ons, runs the 1000 ft between 13.6 and 13.8 ET
@ 79-81 mph. So I'm at a total loss of what to do.
I have found the 04 ECU for anywhere from $400 used - $850 new.
I would just hate to spend that much MORE on it and it not help.
Any other suggestions????

Take your car to stock and see if that helps.

I remember seeing on here some guy (however he did have an oz rally, 4g94 2.0 liter) that actually lost power with the bolt ons he had IIRC

What is a wideband for the piggy back? And how do you avoid cops and emissions?
