tire width

i have 205/50's right now on my '05 RA..if i drop to a lower profile 205/45's how wide can i safely go?..i'd like a slightly wider tire..does it noticably affect handling?

I would think it would make handling better, but I never got around to trying to go up to 225 or 235. What wheels are you going to put on it?

i tried 225/45's on my 17's and they rubbed when id hit a bump, and with 3 other people in the car itd be constant. i currently have 205/40's on my 17's and theyre perfectly fine always.

I used to run 215/40 17's and never had them rub. You can run 225 but requires accurate measuring in order to get correct back spacing and fitment.

Also depends on how wide your wheels are. I don't recommend going wider than 205 on the stock 6" wide rim. If you have 7" rims, then no worries about that.
