headers

what is the difference between 4-2-1 and 4-1 headers? most headers made for ralliarts are 4-1, are there any 4-2-1 and would they work on our cars? maybe adding longer runners to help with low end and top end on hp and torque gains?

4 to 1 is usually better for top end power, 4-2-1 will give you far better low end torque and better midrange usually at the expense of top end power---but willl greatly add the the drivabilty of the car. This all depends on the pipe diameter...but you get the picture

if there is any 4-2 headers going into a 2-1 cat help with maintaining top end power while helping to better low end power or vise versa? I'm just looking for ways to gain both top and low end power without any loss wether its torque or hp!

yeah, that works and is best all around 4-2-1..you tend to gain all over the power band with that solution.. I wouldn't go any bigger the 2.25 as an exhaust either, 2" prob best..Just my .02
