Mods please move if needed. Im considering trading in my 2004 ralli art when I return home from basic training but I have also been thinking about keeping it and doing a little more engine work and focusing more on the exterior and just have it a clean daily driver that I can take to car shows. I dont really see the point in trying to build serious power out of it since it is an auto. I have no idea but I would like to see some of your opinions.

 

The question is what do you want to replace it with and can you afford it?

That's the problem I'm having right now, I just spent 2,000$ rebuilding my tranny and I want to strip all the mods off it and trade her in for a wrx (darkside i know) or something awd. But I'm definitely straying from mitsu, all the dealers in my area are either closing down or complete asshats to me. The closest dealer I deal with is over an hour away and his name is Spins4 (highly recommended for parts btw).

 

Im acutally considering a 09 WRX ( darkside too lol). I love my car and the way it looks but I dont know if I want to keep it. Ive gone back and forth about this so many time my girlfriend doesnt want to hear it anymore so I figured I would come here. She says she likes my car better than the 09 wrx and evo x's looks wise but performance is partly where is counts for me. I would love to slap a RRM turbo,cam,head,pistons,rods, etc on it and have a serious sleeper but the end result doesnt seem worth it to me. Ive also talked to the guys at Ripp mods about their sds system and it seems pretty nice too (if its installed right) but the main thing about the car is its uniquness (sp?) because Im always getting "what kind of car is that?" or "Nice evo" lol. On the dealership thing my warranty is done they voided me because of my Tein S Techs.

 

im curious how they voided your warranty just over the S Techs.... did they cause a problem for your car?

 

Nah. I tried to play the whole law card and they said that it wasnt a factory part and all this and that. Theygave me the run around. I told them that they shouldnt be able to void my warranty because it wasnt the source of the problem. I was going to get a headlight fixed and they said because of my Sylvania Silverstars that was another reason they voided it. It didnt matter to me because my warranty was just about to run out and I was trying to get a freebie from them. Back on the subject I was gonna start a poll to see what everyone's opinion is. I just dont see the worth of spending all this money and not even getting to 300whp probably.

well i'm in the same boat as you with having an auto RA but the way i see it is that imma try and make the most out of what i have... build it up just to have a nice project car of my own... if you want the wrx thats fine but with the money difference you're going to have trading your car in you may as well probably just slap in the turbo there and other stuff and be pulling more horses then what the wrx would probably put out.... plus i think the RA does look nicer than the wrx imo

 

Yeah I agree. I think im just gonna keep it but its still in the air. When I get some decent pics of it ill post em up.

 

hey bro, im understad what your going through...i too feel that i should part ways with the RA...i mean i dont really wanna give it up, but i just dont like the minimal aftermarket support for it...so here recently ive been looking at alot of car ranging from wrx, 350z, m3, s15 silvia, and an r32 skyline gtr...all of those i found for damn good prices that made me almost drive home it them...but its still in the air right now, ive had few offers from people who wanna buy my car...so my addiction of buying modds is gonna have to be spent on my 240...build that up and just leave my lancer alone...well that was my little rant...

 

i have an 04 ralli and ive considered traiding her in several times....... but i just cant seem to do it..... mine too is an auto and i havnt done nework to her been keeping her as a dd and instead of going to the dark side i have been looking into an evo..... theyve been an obsession...... like u i dont see the point of dumping the money into an auto ralli...... i have come to the conclusion u just need to do what makes u happiest..... keeping and staying with or going where it pleases u also the money u would b spending should come in play somewhere too
