Headlight Questions
So today I found out that my headlights aren't working. The low beams aren't working but I am able to use the high beams. I checked all the fuses under the hood that are related to the headlights and nothing seems to be wrong.
Is it just a bad bulb and just needs to be replaced?
Is it legal to run just on fogs and my parking lights?
I was looking into getting these bulbs if they need to be replaced

I saw they draw a little more watts from the stock harnesses and just wondered if they would destroy my stock harnesses or not?
Any answers would be great.

If both high beams are not working, it's more likely to be a fuse. Check the fuses in the box behind your battery under the hood.
I believe it is legal to run parking lights and fogs, as long as you have two white lights facing forward you're fine. The odd arrangement might be a cop magnet, though, so make sure you don't give them a reason to tag you.
Those bulbs draw 100w or 120w, for low or high beam. That would probably fry your wiring. Stock bulbs are 55/60 or 60/65 watts, I wouldn't exceed that by very much.

My low beams are the ones that are not working. Highs work just fine. I checked all the fuses under the hood related to the head/fog lights and I didnt find any blown fuses.
What lights would you recommend then that are whiter than stock without blowing my wires? I'm looking for a little more performance then silverstars.
and no i dont have a switch for the lights but thanks.

Well I wasn't planning on getting any HIDs until after I got my projectors since the bulbs are different and I didn't want to end up having to buy two sets.
Any other bulbs out there that look good on an RA that work with the stock wires?

No there are no DRLs that I know of. I'm going to just go out today and get some basic halogens and see if they work then I'll work on getting the projectors and HIDs thanks for your help though.
Hey, i've been running 120w 9007xw bulbs in my car for over a year now without a relay and also without any problems, everything works fine and my headlights are very white and bright. running higher wattage bulbs and frying something is more of a phobia than anything IME.

Also to the OP, have you taken the headlights out to check if they're just not blown? Since the 9007 has both high and low it might just be that there may have been a surge in your system that may have fried the low beam filaments. Take both bulbs out, don't touch the glass (just my experience) and take a look a the thin filaments in the bulb. There should be two, like seen below:
(bulb on the right is 9007)

It may be that your low beam filaments are gone and your high beams are intact because the sudden jolt in a surge only causes whatever system lies on the circuit to be fried, and since your low beams are defaulted (most of the time unless you're the idiot driving around with his high beams on that almost everyone hates) those filaments could very well have been fried.
I didn't read the other responses in your thread thoroughly so if someone already posted up the discussion about blown bulbs disregard this post and just look at the pretty picture.

No one has posted up about what you were talking about bruce but yes I'm sure you're right about those. Thanks for the information and I took out the headlights and the filaments were gone... I'm not sure how but they were. My only guess would be something with the subzero temps we were having constantly or something and all the potholes I've been trying to avoid. But who knows. I only ran my low beams and fogs on a day to day basis so I don't drive around with my highs all the time.
Most likely you bulbs are just going out. My girlfriend hyundais low beams went out and all she could use was high beams, a week or two later her bulbs completly went. replaced the bulb and their fine now
I find that silverstars have a 1 year lifespan on them. I installed two new ones on the same time, and they both blew in a 3 hour span, which is why i always just replace both at the same time. This has happened twice to me now... The first set lasted about 1 year and 23 days, the 2nd set about 11 months 3 days.
