Removing the Panel vent

HI guys,

I got a basic LED kit from Lightrikz to convert my standart HVAC / clock to red color. Now, I know that otter has this kit installed so it's doable

I'm having trouble with installing the kit for the clock. Basically, I need to remove the Panel Vent to access the clock module and add the filters. This is what I've done so far :

1. Removed the face plate of the climate controls (as well as unplugged the hazard lights)
2. Unscrewed both screws that holds the Panel Vent
3. Unscrewed the black piece surrounding the gauge cluster, because the panel vent layers under that.

I'm now to the part where I need to remove that panel vent, but I can't. I tried to pull it out but it did not move at all. It seems to be stuck somewhere. Any ideas ?

I've noticed that there are differences between the 2004-2005 and 2006 Ralliart. On the 2004 and 2005, the Hazard Light button is on the Panel Vent, while mine is on the HVAC face plate.

Has anyone removed the panel vent on a 2006 RA ?

Thanks for any help,

Neo

p.s: Here's the instructions in the guide of the Lightrikz kit :

6. Remove the two screws holding the vent panel in.
7. Remove the two screws that hold up the black piece that surrounds the gauge cluster and remove the black piece.
8. Now, starting from the left, begin to pry the vent panel up and outward. Don't worry if little white clips start flying everywhere,
you can re-attach them back later.

Email Zach here : lightrikz@gmail.com

I got the red led basic kit and the red led sport gauge kit (since I have the Mitsu sport gauge).

Shipping all included, it costed me around 50 bucks if I am correct.

It's very nice

As for general interest, I've succeeded to remove the vent panel. It took few times, but the clamps came off and I was able to access the clock module !

Sorry I didn't see this sooner, but the lighttrikz instructions are correct. You've removed all the proper screws. Now you just need to carefully, yet forcefully, remove the vent panel, starting on the left and working your way across. It's merely held in with snap clips (just like the radio/climate control bezel.)

Carefully pry up, its very easy to crack your panel. Pry from bottom to top.
