Hello all,
I was thinking of getting a Lightweight flywheel. However I
realy do not want to have to change out the clutch. So here in
lies my question. Does a lightweight flywheel need to be paired
with a new clutch or will it work with stock?

it will work with the stock clutch
the clutch moves "freely" between the flywheel and pressure plate
The pressure plate is bolted to the flywheel squeezing the clutch between them
If you are in there it would be nice to change for a better clutch/pressure plate but I understand this means lots of money
A cheap and good improvement however would be to change the clutch bearing for a better one.
I once changed a stock one for a centerforce one keeping the stock clutch and clutching was a lot different. much easier and smoother.

Seeing as you have a 2004 like me, I personally would just go ahead and change out the clutch now. would save you time and money later on if your going to have someone else do it for you. If your going to do it yourself that is different. I am building a motor right now sooo i will be getting a new, better clutch to put in as well as changing out the flywheel for a lighter one. Then you don't have to worry about doing it later on down the road.
yea if u have an 04, than 5 years of abuse/street racing on that clutch is like 10 years on a regular driven clutch. it'll save the labor bills in half if u just replace the clutch now, or AT LEAST the pressure plate, just to replace it now. it'll need to get done in the future anyway. save a few hundred bucks and a weekend.
I've got the exedy stage 2 racing clutch with a lightweight fidanza flywheel and nsk bearing. The clutch is a 3 puck normal thickness. I know this will be a hard ride for everyday use. My concern is with a clutch like that when I get on the throttle will it rape the stock drive shafts?
Also, I'm doing this as a weekend project and its taking me several days to do already. Is there anybody who can give me a quick guide on tranny removal?

several days to change a flywheel???? should take you less than a day
about 10 bolts connects the tranny to the engine, 3 motor mount, 1 clutch cable, 1 speed sensor, 2 shifter cables
You drop the tranny , unscrew pressure plate, remove clutch, unscrew flywheel, replace flywheel, put odl or new clutch and pressure plate(this doesn't change the time at all), change the bearing, put back tranny on engine, bolt 10 bolts, bolt motor mounts, bolt shifter cables, clutch cable, speedo sensor, and then you drink to celebrate

If I were you I'd just wait until the clutch was going out then spend the money... If it aint broke don't fix it...
Remember taking things apart often doesn't always mean they go back together properly and you might wind up in the headache I had with my tranny and the rebuilds... Not saying 100% it'll mess up but once in a blue moon people forget or overlook things.

yeah, i've got all the done but it still won't dislodge. there is about a 1 inch gap between the tranny and engine. I look and when lower the tranny it gets stopped by the cross member of the driver side control arm, that area ya know?
Dont just change the flywheel.
Unless you like a lot of labor.
Its a bish throwing in a clutch on this car,not worth it unless your doing both imo.

Pulling the tranny isn't as easy as that. I'm being told that not just the half shaft on the driver side but the passenger drive shaft has to come out. I don't think there's any unbolting of that shaft. Pulling it out is like the only way to get it out...? How hard is it to put back in? Like the civics just put in the same way you take out?
The driveshafts are easy to take out as long as they aren't seized to the hub. Once the driveshafts are out, you should be able to drop the trans out of the bottom of the car without much issue.
