Under the dash again.
Looking at the diagram. Which would this be? I thought heater but fuse is clean.

I wonder if that wire was supposed to be soldered.

When I tested a few things out with the wire theory I found out that above the a/c button there are soldered connections. Since had spare 7.5s around I did some connection testing. Eventually I found that the 2nd-3rd furthest right turned on the lighting. But touching the furthest right blows the fuse. Wondering if this is an electrical issue.

Yes because you need expensive parts and the labor op is difficult, and it's all free if it's in warranty. But this is a sort of an advanced level repair. You don't want a total rookie tech taking apart your dash this far. Extensive dash work is sometimes a problem for even experienced techs, it's hard to beat the warranty time so you need someone that really cares about their job.

And make sure you give them a heads up about the bulletin, some techs are clueless nowdays and they will try to diagnose when it's already diagnosed with the bulletin. Some may not even be aware of the bulletin.

Clean out all your stuff from the console and glove box too. They have to come out on dash removal. Otherwise the tech will be rooting through all your stuff and losing time unloading and loading them. I get blamed because someone can't find their cell phone charger because it's buried under 50 lbs of stuff that had to be moved around to access fastening hardware.

It's not a problem with the AC or heater coolant or anything electrical. It's a mechanical binding problem with the mode doors not being controlled properly. It's pretty complex the way it controls all 5 outlet modes, 2 different inlet modes and the heater core/AC evap passages. Note too that you need a cabin filter if it doesn't already have one, and make sure they install if necc. Apparently dirt in the system is part of the problem.

The parts are probably going to have to be ordered unless it's a large dealer that's seen the repair numerous times and stocks the parts.

Warranty is way out,
it was just the basic warranty. 3 years etc.
So taking it to the dealer is out.

Otter, if you have that flow chart set, Ill give that a shot tonight :-P

From what you're describing, you probably have an electrical issue, which is much, much harder to help someone diagnose over the internet. I'll see if I can send you something that'll help.
