Need help

ok so 04 ra with rrm cai and custom exhaust with magnaflow muffler
problem occured before exhaust was installed and still continues
a squeal is heard in the engine seems as though it comes from the right
2nd @ 5500rpm
3rd @ 5500rpm

a friend mechanic and i changed the serpentine belt and actually helped

3rd @ 5500 rpm
4th @ 5500 rpm

that is when the squeal occurs as well as a decrease in my acceleration but still accelerates

one mechanic said it may be the throwout bearing but we x that idea
my friend mechanic says its a pully bearing
then my manager who works on engines for a hobby claims that my tensioner is bad
i took it to the dealer for their opinion
and according to them its my rrm intake claims that it needs to be cleaned or something is wrong with it and with the air flowing through it creates a whistle effect like that i hear in the engine (they test drove it and everything)

so if anyone has had this problem guidance would be great

i just started having the same problem, and i personally think it is the serpentine belt and the tensioner is also bad which in many cases makes it "squeal"

im gunna change it and see what happeneds you should try as well.

I did switch the belt and it made the problem better but it still happens and so far a tensioner is almost 100 dollars so I have to wait on that and tomorrow im cleaning my filter so if it changes ill post it

i have not yet replaced the belt nor the tensioner due to the lack of time and money, but i hope after replacing those items it should go away. knowing my luck it'll be something more complex, anyways keep us posted if there is anything else you encounter to eliminate the sounds under the hood.

thanks

If it were the serp belt, it would happen no matter what gear you're in. Does it get worse when you turn on the AC?

ok well i solved the problem for mine
and no it did not get worse with the ac on
it turned out the dealer was right but it was just the filter
you may need a new one
for mine the rubber part that would wrap around the the tube of the cai was leaking and at higher rpms it was affecting the performance because are was leaking through the rubber part instead of the filter itself
and if you want to test that just go to autozone and get a cheap 25 dollar filter for your cai and test it out
