carbon fiber hood?!

I was wondering how many guys out there have the carbon fiber hood and if it really sets off and compliments the RA. my RA is silver so if yours is silver, do you like it?

depends on what style hood you want? are you looking at the evo style from say, RRM? because there are hoods i like and dont like.

personally, i cant stand the look of RRMs hood. makes the car look like a dinosaur. but there are some other evo style carbon fiber hoods that look like teh secks. haha

theres also the oem style cf hood. its just carbon fiber and offers no extra cooling because of the lack of scoops/vents. those look alright, i guess.

I'm actually curious on what everyone thinks is the best lookin CF hood. I've heard good things about the VIS hood but havent actually seen it on alot of RAs... does anyone know where to get them?

^ You can look at Extreme Dimensions, VIS Racing, Andy's Auto Sport or pretty much any online retailer that sells body kits. A lot of local speed shops will also be able to help you out. One thing however is check some photos of the hood out first. I personally own an OEM style Cerious Hood and while the quality of Carbon Fiber is good, the mold had a slight imperfection. The sides where the hood meet the fender are slightly raised so there is a gap. Check photos online and make sure fitment is 100%

Just a curious question. The online retailers are saying that hood pins are needed/recommended. Does this mean the hoods don't come with a latch like OEM ones do? or is it only a disclaimer because they dont think that the hoods will be able to stay down?

^Only a disclaimer, those "latches" have a tendency to break so its best to add the hood pins.

I have the Cerious OEM style one...

Weird...mine has no imperfections...(besides the clear coming out in the corners...).
But that is easily corrected with some new clear coats...
I got plenty of for it!

How do you even get the Cerious one? Their website has been down for as long as I've been trying to check out their stuff.

ive seen the RRM style CF hood on a lowered silver RA and I was really shocked, it looked very nice. If you're thinking that it looks okay or it looks ugly in pictures, if you actually see it in person, which is what matters, then I don't think you would be disappointed. I have a red RA, so I am most likely never to get the cf hood... but never say never!

Yes yours does, I can see it from the photos. You have the same gap by the fenders as I do.

question about a hood vent...this might be a silly question. Cant water get in when it rains? and soak your SRI or CAI? or can the water harm something else from getting through the vent????

+1 especially with an RRM SRI I've always had this concern because around here we have those random downpours
