Helpwith MAF cleaning

First off...yes I searched. Went to the autopart and asked for MAF cleaner and they got me CRC maf cleaner. I took the time to check the back of the can to see what it actually shoots when it sprays and it said DO NOT use on karman-vortex mafs, turbo supras, mitsubihsis or lexus. Checked on a DSM forum and they many ppl use it, did a search here and many people use it and when I checked the Lexus board all the people who use this fried their maf's since KV does not use the hotwire to work.

Use it or not?

Do our cars have a karman-vortex MAF? If not, what type of MAF is in the Evo?

Well, but if the can says don't use on Mitsubishi, then there's probably a good reason. Companies don't shrink their customer bases without good reason.

did you end up cleaning the maf sensor with the crc maf cleaner? from my research, evo's do run a karman vortex sensor. the instructions specifically state DO NOT use on karman vortex sensors.

is there any other way to clean the sensor without using this product?

Is the CRC confirmed ok to use? it seems that there is a mix but not body that used and it caused problems because of it. will this be ok for the maf on the X?

I'm a Toyota tech and at work we've always used a cleaner from crc called electronics cleaner. It has pics of electrical connectors on a red can. I've used that on the toyotas at work as well as my 1g and 2g I used to own and my evo 8 I still have. If your nervous about the maf cleaner saying not to be used on Mitsubishi then I would avoid it and look for the electronics cleaner.
