wait really? How do you find out if the car is still under warrenty? I bought mine about a year ago now, it had 60K on it and well I put 15k in a year >_< Stupid work. But I would love to know if it would still be under warrenty of some kind. I'm starting to leak engine coolant...from a hose it seems though, very little.

Dealers can't void your warranty. warranty exists on the vehicle, not on the person who owns the vehicle, meaning that no matter how many times you sell the vehicle, it stays with the vehicle.

Based on the information from your profile, you are driving a 2006 USDM Lancer Ralliart, and therefore your warranty is as follows:

5 year/60000 mile New Vehicle Coverage
10 year/100000 Mile powertrain coverage

From page 4 of the 2006 Passenger vehicle warranty guide: http://www.mitsubishicars.com/media/...ty_booklet.pdf

As far as I know (from being deined a fan controller) Cooling system is not covered under the 10 year powertrain warranty.

Best of luck to you dealing with the stealership

To the original thread author:

Based on your information of owning an 04 Ralliart, you are SOL for warranty as you only have a 5 year/60000 mile powertrain warranty (page 3 of the 2004 warranty guide http://www.mitsubishicars.com/media/...ty_booklet.pdf)

It varies. There were many 04s, including mine, that were sold with the 100k warranty. IIRC, that promotion started during the summer in 04.

That is correct in that it was an addendum to the original warranty available only to the original owner, ref: http://www.mitsubishicars.com/media/...0_Addendum.pdf and http://www.mitsubishicars.com/media/...0_Addnedum.pdf

Well I wrote a hefty letter to Mitsu yesterday inquiring why there so called high quality OEM parts keep failing. I will keep writing until I get a reasonable response.
