Options for worn-looking carbon fiber dash trim

The faux carbon-fiber trim on my dash is old, scuffed, and looking horrible. Are there any options to either recover it, or if not where I can just order a new piece? Thanks.

you could order a new piece. check the FS section as some people may be selling theirs. if not contact RussellM or just go to your dealer. FS section first though as its usually cheapest =]

OR just paint it to whateveer color you want too. I probably would paint mine white something iono but thats just me

and you can purchase from http://www.pyspeed.com/product-p/rd-8001.htm

there's other vendors but that's the only one i remember

There is a picture on my profile if you wanna check it out. I did white for the trim going across the dash and then black for the radio/HVAC surround and black for the center console also. You need to remove the knobs for the heating/AC and then there are screws in there and also you need to remove the plastic piece that surrounds the gauges. Its too hard to explain in words haha

That cf wrap looks like the way to go but I already got a evo 9 dash but I might do it anyway with the door panels and arm rest cover... Just a thought

There is a gloss 2x2 Carbon Fiber Kit for sale in the EVO forum, this is the best option.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sa...bin-fiber.html

I would try to jump on it because the gloss version is not being made anymore (well not by the original company) Its usually not cheap but its the best.

Just a couple questions regarding your dash that may help anyone else thinking about doing what you did. How hard is the CF Vinyl to apply? I don't have a lot of experience with wraps and etc so I was wondering if there was any room for error when putting it on. I'd also like to know if the added thickness to the panel affected fitment in any way because I'm definitely looking into doing something like this for myself.

its really easy to apply, i recommend also buying some 3M Primer 94 and putting that on the surface first, and to seal the edges after you've stuck the vinyl on
just take your time and use the hairdryer/heat gun to heat up the vinyl and slowly mould it to the corners and round edges
that was the first piece i've ever done and i'm by no means an expert on it, i just went for it, so you shouldn't have any trouble
the vinyl only adds barely no thickness to the piece, it fits right back in like it did before

i bought mine from carbonfiberfilm.com, but you can buy it all kinds of places
the primer i had to order from a different site, its not cheap but really helps
