I have had an Accolade bumper for a couple of years now and it is to the point that its going to take a ton of work to repair. The fiberglass it was made with is just too stiff for any kind of abuse. My car is low and i really try to be careful but sometimes its just unavoidable. I was thinking about going stock again when a good bud of mine referred me to this site which makes a unique fiberglass bumper. When i seen the video i knew i wanted one for a replacement. Now my question is what bumper should i get? Evo8 or Evo9? Whichever is in the lead when i go to buy is the one i will choose.

Everyone who knows me know that i try to do as much as possible not to look like an evo but the limited amount of aftermarket bumpers really cut down on the choices. They either look like an evo or look ricey as hell.

those duraflex parts are fancy, but id rather have Michelle Anderson, The "Model."

 

i'd go with the EVO8 bumper.... to me has a cleaner look

 

im just not a fan of the evo 8 two little holes above the intercooler. i think the evo 9 is cleaner

 

Good points. I do like the 8 because of the clean look. Plus it looks close to stock. Only thing i dont like about the 8 is the "pointed" look of it. On the other hand i have always liked the look of the 9 bumper. But it looks a little much. Thus why i threw up this thread. I could go either way.

 

im not really a fan of the little triangle in the grill that the 8 as versus the 9 has that nice boxed grill look which imo looks better. and why not show off that IC you have GDS? =P

 

If you aren't going to be purchasing any side skirts then the Evo 8 bumper will flow better with your car because it's not as aggressive and does not come down as low as the Evo 9 bumper does. However, I still voted for the Evo 9 bumper because you stated that you are not trying to mimic the Evo. The Evo 8 bumper is unmistakeably a mock up of the OEM Evo 8 fascia, whereas the Evo 9 bumper is a mock up of an aftermarket Evo bumper, meaning less people would probably mistaken you for an Evo wannabe unless they know the bumper design of the Evo 9 one is a mock up of the Gialla bumper.

Evo 9 because that's what I have coming ... I do realize it's not going to flow 100% with the oem skirts but I still like it much more for overall appearance.. My 2 cents

 

Just fyi im keeping my Accolade sideskirts an rear bumper on.
The side skirts look like the ones on the pink one.

 

evo 8 - looks close to stock and cheaper. Dealer quoted me $1300 for oem bumper + lip (bumper unpainted, lip painted) which sucks. Beware though, it took like 6 months just to get my bumper from accolade.

 

If not longer now I've heard some not so good things about them recently.. What am I talking about more like to add to the stock pile....

Just FYI the bumper im getting is not from Accolade. I dont like the pure fiberglass bumpers thus why im not buying from them anymore.
