Need to find Intake Manifold Install
Need to find Intake Manifold Install
hey guys i just picked up a ported intake manifold and it just arrived but i cant find the DIY. If anyone could post a link and any tips or anything else i need to know it would be much appreciated. Im ok at doing car stuff and i have a buddy with a full mechanics set just no lift so i think we can do it.

Its not really that hard, its just time consuming. You have to take out the same things as when adjusting the valve lash (valve cover is optional but recommended) , plus the fuel injectors, vacuum lines, etc. Once all of that is disconnected, remove the 2 screws that hold the base of the IM (from under the car) and all the bolts that hold it to the engine and TB. Be ready to catch and clean up some coolant since you will have to disconnect a line that runs through the flange. Once its all done, if you have trouble removing it, you can loosen the engine (like if you were removing the front engine mount) so you can move the engine forward a little and you should be able to swap it.
Sorry for the fast and condensed explanation, I´m quite tired.

just wanted to say that the install went smooth. Took 5 hours but all data quoted it at 2.8. The taking off was the slow part and if anyone does decide to do this install make sure you have a drip pan below for all the coolant. Your thermostat is directly on the manifold. I'll probably do a write up when i get a chance. Thanks for all your help
