What else do i need?

I'm gonna start on my quest to replace my head gasket this weekend since it blew.

I definitely need my timing belt and water pump replaced since im still using the originals at 80k miles. Is there anything else I would need to get while this things ripped apart?

am I gonna need a valve lash adjustment after i replace the head gasket and reassmble everything?

Any help or input would be much appreciated!

prob best to do adjustment. im in the process of doing my head for second time. stupid shop who machined my valves and head messed up one of my valves so my car wouldnt even run for more than 45 seconds after we pt it all together but you may want to replace all the gaskets on the head autozone sells a whole kit plus valve seals for like 140 or rrm has their performance kit

thats the kind of answer i was looking for. i was just wondering what the chances of them needing replacing were so i can figure out if i wanna buy the kit or just the couple of items that you guys list and then if i end up needing the pulley i can order that seperate.

i actually just looked up the parts all seperate, and even if i did need all the stuff thats in the kit, its cheaper putting them seperately in my shopping cart than just ordering the kit.

apparently i need to replace the head bolts along with the gasket. is this true? has anyone even done this? its really hard to find the head bolts. most of the oem mitsubishi parts sites dont even list it.

if i dont need the head bolts, then i wont get it, because it seems my only option is to go for aftermarket stud kit for the 4g63. and those are $100+. haha

so im just wondering how many of you that have done the head gasket have also replaced the head bolts.

Im doing all of it in the next couple of weeks.
I ordered the belt tensioners AND pulleys. I figure since im going to be down there may as well do it all. It would suck to do most of it and have bearing failure. While you are at it you might want to look at swapping you tranny fluid ect
How much is the kit your looking at?

I replaced all the timing belt idler and tensioner pulleys for the second timing belt change in my car. The auto-tensioner checked out good, so I'll get it next time, and do the water pump then as well. I had to change the accessory belt tensioner also, the original was killed by Wisconsin road salt.
