I'm in nova scotia and we have an MVI (motor vehicle inspection) here. Basically checks brakes and fluids and emmissions and stuff every two years. I have a cat on mine and to pass, had to get a muffler put on and the straight pipe removed. not nearly as loud now and I have no resonator so it's a bit tinny when revved really high, but that should go away and already has a bit. They gave me the part back and said I could put it back on but it would need to be changed when it goes for MVI in another 2 years lol.

I have a short ram and it's fine. I don't think the cai would be a be problem for emissions. I would just take it to a station to check it and see whether it fails or passes then do the work if required and get the cert.

I'm guessing he means California, not Canada.

I saw he's from sacramento but I looked at the califormia emissions check page and it seems like they check for the same stuff we do. Some places in canada don't require a check like NS. Just thought I'd give my 2 cents. I still say just take it in....if it gets rejected, just get the work done and approved.
