Ralliart 1/4 ???

Anyone can tell me what the average 1/4 mile for a stock RA be? I've red from Dragtimes.com and stock times range from 15.9 to 14.9 (wint only an intake). Car and driver states that an RA should do 15.6, Motor Trend 14.9. What shoul be more realistic? IMO an average RA should do around 15.5. Who's right in this??

There are just factors that have to be put in like elevation , humidity, temp., tires , driver mod...

i run around 15.7 pretty steady (5 out of 13 passes) i had one 15.6, but the car with stock mounts and open diff wants to hop and slide...i'm new here, and this is my first post, but i was at the track on friday night for the first time ever...the track was very slick, i think i could get better grip off the line, low 15's might have been within reason...

my setup was:

AEM SRI
axle back 2.5" in/2.5" out w/ stock pipes
yokohama 205/55/R16 @ 20psi
passenger seat and spare tire gone

Not bad ..... Look in the "how-to" section to see how you can make your own motor mounts for a fraction of the cost from some companys.

Crappy motor mounts x2 here... I'm getting a universal engine damper soon and getting it welded to some custom brackets. My guess is stiffer mounts would transfer more engine vibrations to the chassis while a pneumatic shock might not change anything at idle, just lessen engine movement when under hard acceleration/during shifts... I even experienced clutch chatter on really low throttle a couple times (read 4-5 times a month) and want to get rid of it. And I dont want to lose any of the confort I get in my car, I already think it's rough on my higher back and neck during long drives.

Something like this (might have to check measurements) :

Installed like this (but not with this kit) :

I'd still suggest getting the motor mounts filled via the "how to". Yes a little vibration is transfered to the chassis but it's easiliy livable. Not to mention only 40 bucks. Check your mounts they in time will wear out and rip. I have both the solid motor mounts and the zaklee engine damper(disscontinued but great design). I don't think the damper will help very much from where you want to have it anyway. The motor seems to move more <-> than ^v.

Oh I can say I never thought that the movement might be anything else than front to back rocking... I guess if there's torsion, the dampener will be useless.

So then I'm back to square one, looking for old mounts I could fix while my car can still be used. That and an oil pan. And a spindle. God I need my 50 posts! :P

Me too. I found a bit of a crack in my oil pan, living in WI has some distinct disadvantages, snow + road salt = corrosion.

I'm oh so close to 50 myself.

I'll help you friend!! You'll get to 50!

I'll check today with my parts provider for a new oil pan + gasket. I'll get it new just in case, cause I need it badly now. There is some seepage, and if it gets any worse, I'll only know when the pan drops on the road. I'm curious to see how much it's gonna cost this time!!!

I'm checking with my guy right now on an oil pan. I degraded down to using an epoxy on the area of the pan that has the crack until I can get the pan.
