i drive like a bat out of hell and i get 23 mpg. just saying.
i never wait till im on E to fill up, because running the car below 1/4 tank messes up your fuel pump.

but 13.4 gallons *23mpg=308 miles.

(im almost to 195k miles now!)

If I'm not mistaken, that's a very common myth, anyone care to verify?

But speaking of gas lights flickering on and off, I always equated that to fuel expanding and contracting due to temperature changes and it sloshing around in your tank. It's happened to every car I've owned and driven but I could be wrong.

I get 350+ usually. All city driving. I once did 175 miles on 1/4 tank. From 1/2 to 1/4. 65 mph, cruise control on, just sunroof tilted, no a/c or heater. New spark plugs, new filter, oil change done. It wasn't that good before I changed all that though.

Hmmm, thinking I need to check my plugs and I'm not quite ready for a oil change yet. But I'm getting about 200 - 210 per tank running 89 octane. Yes my foot is heavy, but that is far from what some of you are getting.... I have put 1950 miles on since I got it on August 14 and none of those are highway miles.

I'm a pretty rational guy, not superstitious or anything but I swear the last time I had Castrol Edge, I got better mileage. It went back down when I used Mobil 1.

Well I decided to put in some Denso IR plugs today and a fuel system cleaner. I filled it back up today as well...lets see what I get this time around, without changing my driving habbits. It had NGK IR plugs that where pretty carboned up. I'm hoping this will help.

I'm no ralliart but i get around 300 mpg on normal driving. Shifting point is 3.7k rpms. Only flooring it when getting on the on ramp on the highway. I do mostly highway driving. If I change my shift point to 3.2k rpms I get around 325-330 mpg. If I floor it everywhere.....250 mpg. And for long trips from say VA to NC I get around 450 mpg. All of those are about 30 miles after the gas light comes on.

Speaking of gas light. I can go 2.5 days of my normal driving with the light on. I travel 32 miles a day for work. Thats from my house to work and back home.
