Question Help with TDC(head install)

I just did the cold adjustments of the valve lash and now i need to install the head.

How are the pistons and valves supposed to sit so I know its at TDC? I dont wanna bend my valves and I cant seem to find any help.

Pleeease help haha. I'm trying to get the car running by tomorrow.

You'd have to line up the timing marks on both the crank and cam beforehand.

Personally, any time I've installed a head, I've put the crank just off TDC, so the #1 and #4 pistons were not quite at the top of their travel, before putting the head on. Once it was on and tightened down, I would turn the crank by hand to TDC. If anything binds, it will be immediately obvious. If nothing binds, line up the timing marks and install the timing belt.
