THAT'S F'N WEIRD..

id think it has nothing to do w/ the engine since the engine's not running at that time, but i couldnt think of anything that could possibly make a noise like that other than the intake sucking air in...

haha thats hilarious... i bet its a speaker somewhere with a pre-recorded sound.
makes no sense for it to do that otherwise.

yeah but a bov wouldn't do it with a keyfob. and it's not consistent and it doesn't happen when driving/shifting. I've been in the engine and haven't found anything unusual that i can see.

exactly. lol
there is nothing in the car that would or could make that noise. there is no compressor that builds pressure to make that noise. im putting my finger on a loud speaker somewhere.

Same here. Never heard this sound before.
Here are some clips. It was recorded from my phone but I think it's good enough.
Reminder: I have and AEM SRI with a dryflow filter.

It's easier to hear in this one. Just ignore my sister's annoying dog.

It's definitely easier to hear with the hood up with my crappy phone recording, but in person it's very noticeable with the hood down.

I listened to Antonovich's again after listening to mine, and his is a lot louder. Anybody else with a different filter that wants to make a clip?

my theory is that it is compression or vacuum being releaved.
since it stays for a while and it happens electronically when you lock or unlock or the car and when you turn the ignition, i'm going to say it is not compression from within the cylinder.

my theory is that it is the vacuum purge valve for the EVAP system. maybe you have a leak or a hose is disconnected? try unplugging the electrical connector to the EVAP purge valve and cycle the key, or lock/unlock as usual and see if it continues to do it. if not, then it's not that.

of course, if you like the sound, just leave it? =P

yeah, doesn't seem to be hurting anything. I don't think it's a speaker cause it's not consistent and it seems to happen more often if i do more highway highway driving. Sometimes it will happen multiple times a day, sometimes it'll be a few times a week.

I wish the weather wasn't so crappy. There's a lot of stuff i wanna do/check on the car but i don't have a garage
