Derek is his name. He's pretty well known on the evo forums. **** it. I'm going for it.

hmmmmm, i was really thinkin the rrm drag wing, but now im not so sure. I kinda like the little shorty nascar kinda look, or the new ralliart spoiler. All in all id first love to get a shaved trunk. i park next to an evo at work every day (hoping my car will get jealous of the horsepower) and i like his shaved trunk.

i think the rexpeed will install but it wont be flush. the evo trunk is more flat on the top as ours has that slight curvature.

if you can get that Type C Rexpeed fitting flush, I'm getting it ASAP. I'm wingless right now and I love the look. It looks so clean and makes the car look like it's sitting lower. I have those nasty holes from the Evo8 wing though.

I hope it fits. Anyone think that it does anything for downforce or is that mainly with arched spoilers? I felt a huge difference being winglesss at high speed today while driving, I felt like I was starting to bottom out.

from what ive heard if its under 4 inches its less effective if not just for looks, 4 inches is the "magic number" where the air likes to hang out at coming off the roof back....and if u get a tall spoiler it'd use all that air and help push teh car down...tho i wouldnt know for sure, around 70 sometimes on the freeway i feel my rear end staring to wiggle a bit and i have the OE wing on....(specially on very windy days)
tho ive heard people say that the lip spoilers that are just on the edge of the decklid, are the most effective overall provided its the right shape...(and size)..i would think its just for looks personally i dont think it'd do anythign...

I'm honestly not banking on this producing any downforce at all. I 'm getting it for a steal of a price, so worse case scenario if this requires a lot of customization to my trunk I can just re-sell it on the Evo forum side and break even.
As for what's the minimum optimal height for a spoiler I don't know. But I will say this, the more you increase downforce, the more you increase aerodynamic drag. So necessarily having a large spoiler isn't the best. That's why you see properly designed performance wings go for a pretty penny.
