had the same issue when i went and put my tein's in. the upper centre of the control arms (were the lower tie-bar goes) and were the shock goes, i just cut the bolts from ether side of the control arm and just bought new control arms (because of built in bushings) and bolts, they were not moving at all, braker bar and all, i acutely ripped one bushing too, trying too hard i guess. bolts were about $7ea. and control arms about $135ea. all from mitsu, so i guess its an issue with them seizing so i made sure to put some anti-seize on the bolts to keep them from seizing to the inner metal bushings

so at the end of the day the hole rear end is new!

Have you tried heating it? and us a impact and impact it forward then reverse and keep doing this. who cares if you strip or break the bolt they dont cost to much.

You could always try heating the bolt with a blow torch, then while it is really hot, use the breaker bar.

Just use an impact gun. When I did mine it took me almost 2 hours to take one bolt out with the breaker bar and heating it and trying everything. Then I went to Habor Freight and bought an electric impact gun 200 lb of torque and with that it took me 15-20 minutes per wheel to change the springs. The impact gun also helped taking out the top nut to release the spring.

i also use an electric impact...my air compressor is just a little portable one i use for my nailers, filling tires, cleaning stuff, etc.

I found the impact didn't want to break it, i think the bushing was absorbing the impact action...penetrating oil and a breaker bar should be sufficient.

Also i'm pretty sure this is the third thread of this topic in fairly recent history.

Cranswick is right. Anyway, I have done many of these on different cars. Sometimes penetrating oil and breaker bar or torch heat and impact gun does it. Sometimes none of that works and only cutting the bushing apart with a disc grinder will do it. I wouldn't have believed that until I saw bolts absolutely welded to the bushings via corrosion. Even after cutting the damn things out, the little piece of bolt with no head on it was still stuck to the bushing. And you wonder why shops charge a lot of money - they never know what horror awaits.
