My full tank only get me about 300-330km. (not miles, kilometers)
80 percent of the time im driving in the city. My mom told me her toyota echo gets to about 800km in one tank if shes lucky. Is there something wrong with my car?

Well I'm not sure in Km, but I know my car on a maxed out full tank gets 220 miles before the light turns on, and when I fuel up it's about 9.4 gallons from that 220 mile point. 04 RA btw, check how much you fuel up from the light, record miles, then run it to the light and check your mpg's

In the summer I manage to scratch up to just over 400km on a tank (city). I did make it to 480km at one point and was completely stoked, granted that was the average for the cavalier I used to drive

At one point I hit 600km on a trip (highway/city) but I'm not expecting to see that again haha.

In winter I get about 300km a tank as well. My fuel economy kind of took a s*** because two of my winter tires have been losing air, and I had a broken catalytic converter.. and the command start sucks up some fuel too

Our cars are by no means a fuel efficient vehicle (and that's why we love them! <3...)

300-330 km seems very low.

I can get at least 460 km off a fill up if I stay under 130 and even then when I do fill, it takes 42-44 litres usually. In summer I get between 11 and 11.6 km per litre, in winter between 10 and 10.8 usually. Do you use 87 octane ?

Once I got 503 km from a tank and took exactly 45 litres to full up, but that was mainly because I did over 200km on country roads cruising 100-110 most of the time.

Do you drive worse ( better ) than I do ? ie 120 plus before you even merge from the on ramp ?
Is your car afflicted with an automatic transmission ?

Tyre pressures at the recommended 32psi ?
Air filter ? Have you ever changed it ?

Can you take a drive without the rev limiter cutting in ?

To find out if the problem is between the steering wheel and seat, swap cars with your mother for a tankful.

Let us know what you find out please.

Hey,

I get about the same with mostly city driving in Toronto. I can get up 455-500 kms if it is 80% highway driving with avg speed of 120km/h

220-230 miles when the light comes on.

Why are you comparing the RA with an ECHO??? Apples and oranges....

Comparing notes with other RA owners in past threads, we've come to the conclusion that all RAs do this. I'll routinely get 200 miles on the top half, and only another 100 miles from the bottom half of my gauge.

Only once I reached 30mpg when I came back from West Virginia with busted radiator, did a lot of cruising in the mountains down the hill and up I didn't push it.

Most i have gotten is 350 miles on a tank. I usually average 300—330 miles in the summer. Winter is 280-300. I do a lot of highway driving.
