Lightbulb Evolution IX - NA Production Numbers (updated)

I received a phone call this morning from Mitsubishi of North America regarding a service request.

My Mitsubishi service request question was “How many Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX were exported to the United States by model and color”?

The Mitsubishi case manager assigned to my case was wonderful to work with on this request. However, misinformation was given to me in the following forum thread. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...uction+numbers

The following information took weeks for the case manager to compile. The case manager did not have data regarding color production numbers but did give me the following data:

0358 - Evolution IX RS
3667 - Evolution IX (includes SE editions)
4176 - Evolution IX MR
8201 - Total exported Evolution IX to North America (USA)

I asked if this information could be published publicly. The case manager responded “YES” to my question. I then requested an official Mitsubishi document with this data. Unfortunately, the case manager responded “NO” to the request

I’m sure many people will question this information. For those needing proof, Please call Mitsubishi customer care for the United States at 1-888-648-7820 and be sure to request a service request number.

I was hoping to have a lower MR export number but at the end of the day, I could careless if 100,000 or 4176 MR were export to the Untied States, I still love this car

The Evolution IX will be used as performance benchmark for years to come…

Great info, a lot of people including myself have been very curious what the numbers looked like.

On a side note, I'm happy to be one of only 358 with a IX RS.

So any guess's on how many are totaled already? I would guess around 500 as of now?

Those are pretty low numbers.

I wonder how many VIII's total were exported. I heard there were more IX exported in 06 because there wasn't going to be any ine 07.

Hopefully this will help the resale value of our cars for years to come. I almost bought a WW RS IX but got a GG IX instead. Would have been cool to have such a limited production car.

Good post!

So, I guess that means that in my family, we own over 1/2 of 1 percent of the RS production for 2006. At least, for the time being.

I dont even wanna think about how many wreaked ones there is now

Thats crazy theres only 360 RS. Thats gonna be a collector.

Also, now people with IX MRs can see that IX MRs are not limited, like the VIII MRs, as there was only 1000 or 1200 VIII MRs.

Do you have a more detailed breakdown? I'd like to know the color and the SE breakdown.
