FWIW, Evos sell only ~12-14K vehicles worldwide. By my rough calculations, there are ~18K Evos in the US, compared to ~250K 911s.

Yes they are real. I called Mitsu a few weeks ago to confirm and they told me the same thing regarding the IX production number. So yeah, you have a rare one. You should find out what number you have.

yes we do and think, half of them are red and half are white... so i have 1 of 179 red evo IX RS in the states thats roughly 3-4 per state! id say thats pretty rare

Ya insurance is fun.. For each of my evos im in like 2200 a year. But the yaris is only 1200!
