HID Question.

Hey guys, Im not sure if this is the right section. I have a 2006 ES,but as far as I know this question would have same answer for RA as well, and this is much more frequented. I want to put some HIDs onto my car. My question is what type of setup should I be getting for it work with all normal function and is it possible to delete the DRL when switching over to HID? Thanks for the help in advance.

There is a thread on club4g about deleting drl's by bending the pin in the front ecu. I did it over 2 years ago with no problems. For a hid kit, you wanna get bi-xenon. That way you can keep high and low beams. I bought a 70 dollar hid bi-xenon kit on ebay and it lasted for about 2 years before the ballast went.

9007 6000k unless you like colors. (Who doesn't?) Get the relay for it also. And get the Bi-Xenon. You don't know how often I've used the high beams but you'll need it from time to time. By the way, what's a DRL?

DRL's are mandatory where I live. It's kinda lame. I'm thinking I want to try and jump the fuse box and make my fogs my DRL's.

Imagine your headlights on, but dimmer (like 40-50%). Enough to make your car more visible in the distance for other motorists

They can definitely be a PITA, but it's worse when some idiots have HID's improperly installed that actually blind people in broad daylight.

Yeah I think it's a northern based thing because I don't have them. I can turn them on but they aren't on all of the time. But for the same reason nerdbot stated " to make your car more visible in the distance for other motorists" I choose to turn them on alot, because no one knows how to drive or speak English for that matter. How do people get a drivers license when all of the street signs are in English?? Venting...alittle sorry
