From what I'm looking at the SRS airbags are optional equipment with LS and Ralliart lancers 04-05 , I don't have the info for the 06 but it would only make sense to have it optional as well.

I wouldn't be down, that deadweight might prevent you from becoming "deadweight" one day

Srs

Ahhhh , that's what the red SRS light on my dashboard means! I was wondering about that. I also see a couple of shielded tubes running to my seat - I assume those have something to do with the airbags.

Any idea what I should expect to pay for a reclaimed seat from the salvage car?

Thanks.

I was complaining earlier in this post about how uncomfortable my seats are. Well, I had my wife drive while I sat in the passenger seat. The foam in the driver's seatback must be broken down; the passenger seat wasn't nearly as bad.

My driver's seat has no lumbar support at all; I have to put a small pillow behind my back.

had this problem too, the wire supports across the back were broken, you can just curl the ends of the wires with pliers and vice grips, to make a loop, and tie the wire together with flexible metal wire, or strong string...

If you guys would have your fun in the back seat, your front seats would last longer

Back seat? Why do you think I've owned SIX station wagons?

As for CrAnSwIcK's comment on repairing his seat back: I'll bet mine has the same problem. I'm don't want to take apart a seat with an airbag/explosive charge without knowing more than I do. I'll probably get a pro to do it if I keep the car (and that's still up in the air).

My drivers seat is alright, although about a year ago I heard some metal rattling from it. I opened up the bottom from the back and a one foot metal rod about the diameter of my pinky fell out. The seat still feels the same and weight reduction lol.

Also the mesh grille on that ra is aftermarket , try to snag that too. I'd also say take the MAF, TPS, and the FCM if they can be had for a decent price. Pop the hood it might have an intake or headers, since it was clearly modded.

if they're in good condition you either upgrade yours or can always sell them here on the forum for maybe more than what you'll pay the salvage company
Those tail lights look scratched and/or cracked. The PS tail light is definitely fubared.

I would consider a new seat if the seat actually is damaged from a previous accident. For safety reasons alone I would consider changing it. Also depending on if you do track the car at all, it could be a good time to upgrade to something more comfortable/performance oriented, and lighter.

I am headed out there this week. Not being too bright, could someone please tell me what the MAF, TPS and FCM are?

Thanks!

If I do go the 'new seat' route, what would you recommend?

Thanks.

My buddy replaced his with some sort of Recaro that seem to be a big improvement over the feel of the stockers. I have also heard that Evo 8 and 9 seats bolt right in and plug into the same harness the stock seats did, but may require a dealership to turn off the SRS light, (caused by a different seat/airbag replacing the stock set up). There is info about the swap you can find with a google search.
