That's great man, talk about clean. Looks like you made a great purchase. Like Crans said, 06 is much better than the 04 and 05's.

Lol I'm curious as to why you guys think the 06s are so much better than the 04-05s?

i meant just from a book value standpoint...but now that i think of it, we do have nicer grilles imo...though i've been dying to make an 04-05 bumper with an 06 grille and a custom lip...one of these days...

I like the 06 grille and bumper better than the 2-piece 04-05 grille.

Yea I agree the bumpers look so much better... But they look like two piece bumpers... Do the fog lights from 04 fit in a 06 bumper?

I think it's all about the grille for most people. Definitely like the 06 one more.

Ooooo Oooook I thought there was some solid difference you guys were talking about. My oem bumper has been off for 2+ years now I always preferred the 04-05 front ends over the 06s(probably bias) but I do like the steering wheel in the 06s.

No nothing really solid haha. The grill is definitely better and book value higher. I also feel like Mitsubishi worked out some kinks from the 04 and 05 on the 06. At the end of the day, they perform the exact same. Just pure bias over here!

The fog lights and their mounting brackets are the same. The bezel (black plastic around the fog light that fits into the bumper) is different.

Not sure what you mean here as the main annoyances like the squeaking rear arms and the P0171 covered all years, as did their respective TSB's.

Aside from cosmetic changes, the other difference is the SRS.
In the 2006 the front passenger air bags deploy only if that seat is occupied, dont think the 2004-2005 was like that.

Also there was the issue of who had lousy airbags in their seats vs who had lighter seats.
Steering column is different too, 2006 cant bolt on the Evo steering wheel like the older guys, we need to change the column for that.

Same here. IMO the 06 looks a lot more like a Galant with it's grill. But then again some of the newer Galants look like the 04-05 lancer. Its a vicious circle...

Sorry to ask, but what's the difference between the 04/05 to the 06? Isn't it just the front grill?

Front bumper is different. Lip is the same. And I think there are some minute differences in the ECU that Ive heard of. But other than that they are the same.

FOUND IT https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/04...me-anyway.html

04-05 engages @ 3500rpm while 06 engages @ 4000rpm (saves gas, i guess)
