need to vent - nex coilovers

After hours of trying to get one of these cheap coilovers to unseize to raise the ride height for the winter I am throwing in the towel.

No amount of pb blaster, fire or torque will get this thing to budge. When I purchased the car these were already on it and set at such a low setting its hard enough to drive on, there's no way it would make it through more than 2 inches of snow.

Also this nex company doesn't have a public phone number available to contact them inquiring about warranty replacement or even buying a new bracket in the event I wanted to cut this one off.

Moral of the story, steer clear of these coilovers. If they come on a vehicle you purchase, be prepared to trash them if you ever want to change ride height.

On that note, anyone who might have an OEM suspension laying around their garage for an 06 ralliart feel free to pm me and I will clear out some space in your garage

rears adjusted, monster truck mode

The front that finally cooperated.

The one that is seized. I have more pb blaster soaking on it overnight, I'm hoping by some miracle it breaks loose.

I've read that putting a bike's innertube over the threads will prevent this dilemma in the future, so if I end up getting this apart and reusing them this winter I'll try it. If not the local junk yard has an OEM set of 4 with 110k on them which I may have to pick up for now.

Wow sorry to hear about that man , hopefully it works out ,but I don't think it's solely the coilovers fault. I think the rust and road salt played big factor in this. I like the rims with the little ralliart lettering on it , it looks good.

I think I was more upset by the lack of ANY customer service by the company than anything. Ride quality is poor on these but I can't purely blame the one being seized on that. Its definitely somehing that could happen to any coilover system. Although if you saw the underside of this car you could see why I was so surprised when they were seized, it looks like its never seen snow, virtually no corrosion or rust and all of the bolts break free with ease.

Thanks for the compliments

You guys with the stock parts have a pm

Forget the inner tube, use anti seize aka copper grease.

Very wicked rims, what make/model are they ?

Love the rims, what are the specs? ...and the ralliart decal on them...very original...don't mind if I do... ... *swipes idea*
Good to see you got 3 of them loose. Hopefully that other one breaks free.
You are a family huh? Evo, Eclipse, Ralliart, Lancer...when are you picking up the Outlander and Galant? Is that a 1G or 2G DSM in the background?

EDIT: I can read...95 Talon...

Haha, I will definitely antiseize the $%#* out of them..

The rims are 17x7 Azul Razr in silver, everyone thinks they are the oem rims lol

Yeah, I have owned countless dsm's so I've always been a mitsu guy, I had to open the girlfriends eyes to the light, since we've met she's owned an 09 eclipse and now the 2011 eclipse in the picture. The outlander is definitely in the future after we get married and have kids. We get the loyalty perks now so I can't imagine we'd stray from mitsu.

Specs on the dsm in the background are 95 talon TSI, 5 speed, 6 bolt swap, 16g turbo, 3"tbe and a bunch of other stuff. I am on the fence about parting it out, I never have time to mess with it anymore.

I appreciate this! I'd throw in something you could use for your turbo build if I have something you still need. I have lots of dsm turbo parts laying around that would be adaptable I would imagine
