Yeah, that's what has me at a loss. Because regardless of the thermostat or coolant temp sensor it should turn on when i turn my ac on and it doesn't do that either. I really don't know how to go about remedying this I'm almost to the point that I'm just going to hardwire the fans so i don't have to worry about it over heating. also xmaster19 i double checked the part just now it's the correct one. I'm still perplexed on this issue i wish there was a more active forum for ralliarts i'm sure there has to have been at least a few more R///A owners who's had this issue before

Did you ever figure out what the problem was? The 04' RA I just bought had overheated and blew the head gasket on the previous owner. They had replaced the thermostat and radiator before giving up. I put a reman. cylinder head on and got it running. My symptoms are the same. Car runs great on the highway but once I got into stop and go/low speed traffic the temp gauge went up. Fans are not coming on (which is weird since they came on immediately when I first put a battery in it). Turning the ac on (which does work/blows cold) does not kick the fans on either. I have a Ebay fcm on the way and plan to replace the coolant temp sensor.

Make sure the fcm is plugged in, I overheated the other day, and the connector had wiggled off somehow.

Just a follow up. New fan control module fixed my issue. Temp gauges stays just below the middle regardless of outside temp or traffic conditions. With ac on the fan comes on when the ac compressor clutch engages and goes off when it disengages.
