Suspension Time!
With all the bumps and pot holes on the streets over here im not looking for something thats very stiff. It is my daily and I dont want a rough ride. I do realize it is going to be alot stiffer than the stock suspension but im trying to keep it to a minimum. Also from what ive read the bc and megan are very stiff and also not as good quality as Tein. I am looking for something thats gona last and I know Tein is known for that.

Install isn't bad if you have all new parts, only problem I had was going for the main bolt instead of the nut on the rear control arm, the head stripped bad. Make sure to buy some liquid wrench and soak all the bolts and go for the nuts. Also get the biggest breaker bar possible (I used an 18 plus a 18 to get the fronts and an 18 for the rears.)
You also will need your camber fixed, the back is semi adjustable but I don't know how far your going down so you might need a kit. It is also a good idea to do what ever suspension stuff you can afford since you'll probably get an alightment after this anyway (both tie rods on both sides, lower control arms etc).

Ok, hijacking the thread to clear out some confusion I have.
Trying to write down a grocery list for my (and JTCB's) new suspension setup, and I must say it's really confusing.
KYB GR2's and Eibach spring is what I'm looking at right now, I'll get a quote from my job to see if it's worth forking the extra cash for coilovers or save a bit and go with new struts/springs.
So far it's been really confusing, some websites list shocks in the back, other struts. Eibach wouldn't give any p/n for their spring kit, KYB wouldn't list the GR2's at all for the Lancer. I've patched things up here and there, if someone can confirm any of this is good and/or needed.
KYB GR-2 front struts : KYB-334369
KYB GR-2 rear shock : KYB-1612787
KYB ExcelG rear strut : KYB-341368
MOOG front strut mount : K80917
MOOG front bellow : K90467
MOOG rear bellow : K90467
MOOG front upper strut mount kit : K7226
MOOG rear shock mount : K160148
Eibach spring kit : 6040.140
What confuses me the most is the availability of both struts and shocks for the rear, and all the kits/mounts required for the install. Any help would be welcome!

You have some of the same parts up there KYB ExcelG rear strut : KYB-341368 is what your looking for for the rear and MOOG front strut mount : K80917 for the front... Not MOOG front upper strut mount kit : K7226 and not KYB GR-2 rear shock : KYB-1612787 idk those didn't come up when I checked but can possibly be used since they are for regular lancers but I wouldn't put regular parts on my RA And the excel g are gr2 they just dont call them that anymore
On their website, they qualify ExcelG as OEM replacement. The picture they have for it seems like a regular strut to me. In the end, you might be totally right and they failed at their website, like Eibach not listing the 6040.140 kit as fitting the Lancer.
I' glad not all websites are as unclear as those.

This^ might not be as comfy as struts, but it's fully adjustable ride height, camber, etc. On eBay you can find some sets for $800-900, but shipping varies.
Yeah that's the thing. I'm so indecisive about this decision. Should I just stay with the basic strut setup with some lowering spring and have a comfy ride or for the same price get fully adjustable coilovers but suffer from stiffness?
On my last car I had a full coilover setup and while the handling was awesome the ride was a tad bit too stiff for me. So with the ralliart I just went with the Tein springs, still using the stock struts and shocks which I plan on replacing soon though.
How would you rate the handling with the Tein springs compared to stock..?
it's been a while since i've had the stock sway bar, but they do handle really nice, they ARE fairly stiff though, i'm pretty sure swift and eibach are a bit softer if you want improved handling, lower C of G but with near OEM comfort.
