next step advice on frankstein ralliart
Ok first off the car I have is a 2006 ralliart with a 4g94 engine, which came from the company. My problem was that the car was stalling when throttled at the first gear and second. I took everyones help from the forum and around. Changed sensors, stock intake and filter to aftermarket, spark plugs to iridium types and all coils. Totally forgetting that this is all on an old engine now I'm getting a tinkering sound from the engine which can be clearly heard on higher rpms, my best guess is a piston. I plan to take it to a garage to get it checked out but before I do i wanted your advice on a few things. If it was a piston would you recommend fixing it and does it require that I change the whole piston and rod and stuff, or should i just swap out the engine
If it's best to swap out then I might have a problem finding a similar engine care et he stealership stopped selling them as soon as they got down, i read a few topics for swaps with an EVO and eclipse. My other question towards this is that I have a ralliart body should I be looking into swapping what fits the ralliart or what fits in place of a 4g94 and i have an auto, can I still place any engine I decide on this tranny.
I know u guys are all thinking why i didn't post this on the OZ forums since they have the same engines but to tell you the truth I get a better reply than that forum section where I probably won't get any. I'm not looking for guys with the same car or engine I'm only looking for someone who has experience on some what a similar event and can shed some light on what i should do next towards this. I don't wanna leave the car at a garage here cause they probably might screw something up just to get me back there. So i wanna know what to be doing

It would prolly be simpler to just swap in the same motor. I would say find a 4g69 but you will prolly need the ecu for the engine as well and wiring harness I think because you would go to coil on plug.. Someone has swapped a 4g69 here I forget his name maybe he could shed some light.
