i have around 2500 miles on mine. I've had mine since the beginnig of December. I didnt really start driving it until mid january because i got in trouble with my parents and they took my car away. It sucked. I only drove it once in a while. But now i drive a lot. Its making me sad =(

I now have a little over 12,000 miles on my car. When I first started this thread 2 months ago I had 8,000 I'm gonna have 25 by the end of the year at this rate.

So far it hasn't been trouble free. The timing belt tensioner bearings went out on me. Seems a little soon for any kind of trouble like that, but it was all covered by warranty.

You guys have it easy. Enter my Tiburon:

2003 Tiburon GTV6:
6 - recalls and counting
Hand brake cable loose
Rattle in left rear speaker
Rattle in rear view mirror
Irregular tire wear due to unadjustable positive camber
2 - replaced radio decks for disfunctional lights
1 - replaced driver side power window motor
1 - replaced Sunroof motor
1 - replaced alternator
1 - replaced battery b/c the alternator fried it
1 - replaced ECU b/c the alternator fried it
1 - revised alternator pulley to correct the alternator issue
No air-conditioning during the entire 2-month hassle with the alternator
Having your car die in motion on the freeway at 80 mph because the ECU gave up the ghost

Glad I bought that extend 100K bumper to bumper. I'm currently at 65K and counting. If you think these are some bad problems, check out the current RX-8 or the 2002 Acura RSX.

OK seriously, what have you heard on the RX-8??? I went and looked at one the other day and have been telling myself not to trade in my RA every 5 seconds since I sat in it. Are they having a lot of recall problems? I know this probably isnt the right thread for the question, but you brought it up so I thought I would ask. In order to keep this thread on target, PM me if you have any useful info. I have been SERIOUSLY SERIOUSLY considering trying to trade up.

mitsumichael7, have you surfed some of the RX8 forums? Those places probably have a few complaints and problems threads.

Overall glad to hear that the Ralliart is still kicking butt in terms of reliability... but tehn again, maybe this car is still too new?

And the 2002 Acura RSX has problems?!

It had quite a few recalls. Most cars that are brand new from the ground up have a few problems. Acura ironed everything out by 2003 and repaired everything under warranty.

The Ralliart may be new to us, but in Japan the engine tech has been used before. In addition, the Lancer platform isn't new. I don't see many problems in the future. The only one I could predict is abnormal engine wear from not haveing an over drive gear. Every Ralliart owner really should consider synthetic oil.
