Is there a universal throttle cable for us?

Hi,

Has anyone bought a universal throttle cable that fits our cars?

I've been dealing with a throttle cable that gets sticky after it gets hot in the engine bay. One time I got in a fender bender and the cable came loose without me noticing. The plastic around the cable ended up melting when it came in contact with the header. The melted plastic went inside the metal sleeve causing it to get stuck. I was able to salvage it by melting the plastic out except for when it gets super hot in there, it starts getting sticky.

I've been wanting to replace it (need to pass smog and idle needs to be right) but I can't find the OEM part anywhere or any aftermarket parts. I was told by Mitsubishi dealer that I would have to look for a used one as they don't carry any.

We all know how hard it is to find any used parts for our cars. So, has anyone bought a universal throttle cable that fits our cars? Maybe a similar cable from another Mitsu car that also works for us? I haven't been able to find any so far.

This is the stock part number: MN10037

Thanks in advance!

I haven't seen or heard of any that would fit. Try calling around local salvage yards or scour eBay I'm sorry that your going through that. Emissions are stupid anyways it's just a way for the state to take your money

the dealer can order them, I don't know why they said they couldn't.

Thanks for the replies. Not sure why the dealer said they couldn't. I had to confirm who I was speaking to when he said he didn't have any and couldn't order any. He said my best bet was finding a used one.

I ended up taking mine out and heating it up to melt the plastic/rubber out. It seemed to do the job until it got hot again. I melted the plastic/rubber out again and wrapped it in heat wrap and the issue has completely went away.

I did end up finding one though at jnztuning but I have not ordered it since I feel pretty confident with my salvaged piece.
