Introduction/Assistance Needed
My names Evan, and I'm currently located in New England. I turned 21 in April, and originally got started with cars when I bought my first car, a 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage. After finding the guys over at Mirage Forums, I was amazed to see some of the great builds they had, and immediately my interest was peaked. I quickly moved on to a larger 2.4L engine with a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse. I did my first major modifications to that car, and learned quite a few great lessons. Due to the fact that it was an automatic, I always felt like I was lacking more, so I knew it was time to move on to a real car, just couldn't afford the Evolution.

Purchased my 2004 Lancer Ralliart today:

I had been looking at the car for a couple of weeks though, and already have some parts here. Although I was quite impressed with the stock system, I have still purchased a brand new component kicker set for the front speakers, a set of kickers for the rear, and a kicker subwoofer. Powering it all is a Rockford Fosgate 5 Channel Amplifier. I also purchased Tein Lowering Springs and a HID Conversion kit. The Magnaflow Catback will be next, along with the RRM Intake manifold, as soon as I get some regular maintenance done.
I do have some questions about the vehicle though, that I hope some of you may be able to assist me with. I purchased a Nismo Racing leather shift knob (I understand it's Nissan but I love the knob) but the threads sit too high to catch. I noticed how low the threads sit on the stock shift knob. Do they make adapters for these or am I out of luck?
The middle console has to be pushed slightly to the right, and then really POPs when you push it down into place. Is this supposed to be so rough, or are everyone's the same?
Lastly, I'd like to hardwire in a Cobra radar detector, and a Garmin GPS. Any recommendations on what wires to tap into? And is it possible to replace the 12V cigarette lighters in the dashboard? Mine is broken and I'd really like that! I'm sure in the next few days I'll run into some more questions, I'll try to keep them all here in this thread. Thanks for checking it out!
EDIT: I'm going to be debating the vehicle. Does the Ralliart Emblem also use adhesive like the Lancer Letters, or does it use prongs? I remember these on my Mirage and I had four tiny little holes in the trunk.

I wouldn't try to go hacking and slashing trying to wiring in a radar detector or a GPS without getting a wiring diagram first and as to what wires to cut I have no idea on the stuff you want to add. You might be able to find an adapter on eBay for the shift knob. And I haven't had any problems with my center console but I don't have one anymore as I have gutted out all my interior except for my seats. The cigarette lighter is easy to replace just pull the cosole and it just unplugs and you twist it out it's very simple.
Congratulations on your new Ralliart!
There are lots of how-to threads and write-ups here on EvoM that you can take a look at when it comes time for some modifications. But like I say to everyone, first things first: get that service and maintenance up-to-date. Most of the console parts of the RA, from my experience, use screws and "poppers". The center console has, iirc, two screws and it pops out. Just make sure you don't yank on it too hard but instead just give it some good tugging and it should come off smoothly. You are really going to enjoy your RA! If you have any questions/concerns, post it here on this thread.
PS: I think you should ask your thread to be moved to the "Show & Shine" section. Just an idea...
Take care and have fun with your new Ralliart!

Welcome to the Ralliart family! I hope you enjoy it. I own two RA's and a 3G eclipse that I am hoping to sale soon. If it doesnt sale I've always imagined a RWD 3G would be so badass... LOL
Anywho this is the place to be for the Ralliart! Glad you found us. Just ask away if you need any help. The stickies in each of the sections would be a great place to start digging around.

pretty sure both Mitsubishi and Nissan use M10x1.25 threads on the shifter, I'm not really understanding what you mean, sorry. Could you post a picture?
also if you're going to shell out the money for the RRM intake manifold, without doing anything else, you'd be better of with a tune. you can have your own intake manifold ported later, or get one from a junk yard for $100, and get it ported down the road, at least by then you'll already have a tune
