Ralliart Intake

how can you claim power gains when sucking hot air from the rad??
With your design, your dragging in all the hot air from the rad??? the heat sheild will just get heat soaked and act as a "pre-heat" as the air passes over it.
we have choosen to go to the lower corner and out the plastic flap to the "cold air" of the fender wheel. It has yeilded a substantial difference from the "short ram" design.
Funny, people love the price of 150.00 usd shipped for a 12" of pipe and a filter, that only gives noise and loose on the bottom end?
Not to bash you or your company, don't get me wrong..i just don't get why there is a need for the short ram and where the fobia came regarding"hydro locking a motor".Hell you'd have to sink the car in the water over the intake manifold level to hydro lock it.I'd be more worried about the crappy filter companies out there that still use paper as a filter agent...gets wet and disappears up your throttle body.

well when you live in a place like las vegas which has the worst flood system ever you do not want a "cold air" intake i have seen car after car that has had the "hydro lock" problem here we could of easily made it a cold air but we choose not to because that little extra 2hp isnt worth it.... and this is still in the make and as of now i think we are the only one who replaces that 90" bend that goes to the throttle body where most of the restriction is at....

It doesn't take much, and when you're in a climate that floods often (such as Michigan, where I am), CAI is like walking a tightrope with a noose around your neck.
umm, yeah if it gets so hot that you need a heat sheild, I dont think it will performe any better then the stock, the stock is constricite but it pulls out air insted of engine bay air in. most short air intake don't produce that much/if any increase due to that point. depennding on how/where the intake is located.
the tradeoff on a short ram is higher flow, less bends, but hotter air.
The air inducted from a stock system is colder (since that horn-type thing is drawing from the outside), but it doesn't draw too much in due to small surface area and the restriction from the air-box, multiple bends, cheap panel filter, etc....
A proper short ram would have to position the filter as far away as possible from the motor in the engine bay. Unfortunately, doesn't look too promising with the RA's setup.

http://www.dgmotorsports.com/process...&ProcessType=1That would be the optiumal short air (ram) intake , but im not to sure how it handles water or if its raining.

Ya, problem is, what would it be if its raining? You cant control weather and when the sky wants to rain and your driving, wont it create a problem. So will that air vent work during raining (i mean by will it mess up the components with the rain)?
