It's kinda one of those cars you have to drive to get what i mean I guess...

well all, So long
5000 worldwide??? Nice but you dont know what you ar talking about. Unless only 10 states are getting them in the whole world. The Toyota Dealer down the street from my house has 5 in stock now. That means that the city of San Diego has at least 5 meaning that all of europe now gets none. Maybe that was a typo, you might have meant 50K or 500K, but not 5K. If there are 50 states in the US than you are saying taht the US would get 100 per state and the rest of the world would get none...hmm. ANyways, glad you are happy with that little car.

Even this statement is misleading. The math works out that way, however the majority of the value loss is the second you drive the car off the lot.

I will say one thing if I find out for sure they are going bankrupt, i'm going to get my extended warranty money back that I paid them when I bought the car. Heck I'm pondering the idea already.
are we talking mitsu motors of america or the whole company including the TV makers and the entire Japanese company.

My point is this- it will take anyone a couple years on a standard 60 month loan to be above water, which is to say they owe less on the car than it's worth on trade. This is because car values plunge in the first few years then level off. All I was trying to say that the dealer's justification for trading in the RA based on depreciation was not a good one. I'm not trying to mislead anyone, just trying to illustrate how someone (like a dealer) can use a pretty standard fact of new car ownership and make it look like $100/week in deprecation. So I think you and I are in agreement, no?

Thats a good idea. We should keep an eye on things though.
