Question Alternate gage cluster finish

While I was browsing through the RA pics I gathered before I bought mine, I stumbled across this special pic. It seems to show a special finish of the gages... metallic accents aroung the gages and some kind of textures finish around them. Since my car doesn't look anything like this, I was wondering if any of you guys got this altenate look or if it was just on a small number of demo cars lended to journalists...

Here's the pic:

I think it looks much better than my own gage cluster...

No. I have what u have. If any have that one, I would suspect it would be the overseas version (you know, the one w/ the cool seats and HID's)

Well then, I might just be looking into the possibility of doing this as a mod project... it looks kinda cool. I wonder if it's hard to take it all appart for painting?

Maybe it's the gauges from the sportback or maybe the OZ who knows.

As you can see, I'm in Quebec and my gages are identical as yours (except for the km/h part, of course). And by the way, we get big km/h numbers over smaller mph... wich would suggest this is not a north-american model.

Well, at least our investigation is slowly getting us somewhere. Right now, I really think this might be from a demo car, so the journalists sould review the car before it made it's way on the market...

But right now, I'm getting really serious about painting those gages trims... I really think it looks awesome! Anyone of you guys know how to disasemble the gage cluster without making a mess of things?
