RRM short ram or cold air?

Ok im about to purchase an intake, and i cant decide whether or not i want the cold air or the short ram. There is about a one hundred dollar difference in the two, so i was wondering how much of a difference Horse Power i would get out of the cold air rather than the short ram. Money is kind of tight for me, so what do you guys think i should get?

Well the CAI is the best way to go...if you have the money buy it, you will not regret it. The short-ram sucks in hot under-hood air which makes it less efficient than the CAI. Although being in NJ a colder state I would recommend buying a AEM 3" Bypass valve which will save your car if you happen to drive through any large puddles. This valve can be easily installed in place of one of the silicone couplers that is used to piece the pipe together.

Hope that helps!

it would be hard to install since the rrm intake is one piece, you would have to cut the pipe cause the bypass valve fits in a two piece intake

yes the version 2 pipe u would have to cut...but this is hardly a concern because of what your doing to save your engine! I would cut it somewhere right after the MAS so you could convert it to a short-ram within minutes and just screw your filter on where the bypass valve was. Although with the bypass I dont see why you would need to worry about doing this either...just a thought!
