I think the real question is why the 3G guys haven't put in one of the 6G72T stealth turbo motors and kept it FWD...that is the real question with them

My understanding of interference was whether the valve design could "interfere" with the pistons when the engine was out of time and usually an engine only comes out of time when either the belt breaks or an idiot rebuilds it...I'm sure you can imagine which one happens more.

If MIVEC was so popular wouldn't we be able to order a bunch of JDM parts to hop up our engine already?

that has been the biggest difference IMO between Mitsu guys and Honda guys...THE WILL!!! That is bost a testament to a great great platform and also a HUGE DISSAPPOINTMENT to the development to being faster using something other than the 4G63 motor. But once again that is just my .02

There are MIVEC related performance parts that are in Japan, but this PARTICULLAR motor...if I am not mistaken...is not a mainstream japanese motor. In other words, it isnt used for performance reasons, so development of performance stuff would be higly relied upon us over seas. But I know they have things like MIVEC controllers in Japan that function much like VTEC controllers here do. But our isnt in as much need to be altered as MIVEC has more than 1 stage of development. I hope that make sense. Someone please feel free to lay it down with more technical terms if you please.

As far as interference goes, I agree with the definition of interference motor, and I am pretty sure the MIVEC motor is such a motor.

There are few 3g eclipse GT guys w/ a turbo on their 6g72. They exist somewhere in the US.

MIVEC products are not that huge for the G92 motor, comparing to product diversity for the B16 motor. Then, you have to look at the FTO guys in the UK w/ their 6a12 MIVEC. I'm astounded their best effort was only bolt-on stuff and MIVEC controller (whooppee do on the latter). Somewhere in the world, there was only guy in the entire FTO production that ever mated his car w/ a turbo. Geewhizzz, are they that scared! Where's the innovation from people overseas?

Of course, the G92 MIVEC has all sort of hybrid NA out in the pacific rim countries; at times, it feels like undocumented rumor mongering like some people in PR w/ their Mirages.

Yes, bluffing is a part of being a street tuner. It's like Mike Tyson coming up to you and say, "I'm going to eat your children." You better believe me that I'll cower in fear.

And fior the record...I have someone in Japan RIGHT NOW who is researching the FTO MIVEC 6G12 motor for me. If I manage to get my hand on the motor I will make sure that I boost on it....

Nah, you don't have to do any favors for me. I'm just saddened what other people overseas have taken granted of MIVEC. It has been out for a long time

The site has a 6a12 TT.

6a13 swap in a FTO.

Edit:
Since Mitsu killed the FTO around 00, I have stop looking at them. Now, after 4 years, I guessed there are approx 4 TC-ed FTO out in the world.

I dont think the 2.4mivec is better than the evo's 2Litre at all.. Mitsu will keep the 2litres in the evo's I think.

Ok, case in point: 4G63 has been tried and true for years, and is a great boost motor.

The 4G69 is a relatively new platform to boost. Time will tell.

Will Evo guys start swapping 69's in? Most likely not. Just as you can get high numbers out of boosting a 69, Evo guys who want more power can just boost the 63 higher, get a bigger turbo, etc....

But the 69 has big potential. That is for sure.

My prediction isnt that the Evo will incorporate the 4G69...rather that the Evo will incorporate MIVEC technology into the 2 liter, DOHC motor.
