Service engine light???
Can anyone help me, changed my factory low/high beams today to SilverStars. Looks better, but what a b**** to put it. On the passenger side I had to remove the wiring harness to the throttle body sensor to squeeze my hand in there, now my service engine light is on.....will this go away on it's own or am I going to have to go to the dealer to get it reset. If I go to the dealer will they reset it under warranty? Someone told me once the computer recognizes that nothings wrong it will shut off on it's own...but I don't trust this induvidual. (Did not start the car while harness was off).....HELP....

I remember someone else on the board doing a headlight bulb install and having the *exact* same problem (had to DC the throttle sensor, too). All ya gotta do is disconnect your battery for 5-10 minutes or so to reset your ECU and you should be good. Check your manual about letting your ECU "relearn".
Yep... that's me screwing my ECU up.
I didn't have to wait 10 mins. though... I plugged the battery back on after 10 sec. and everything was okay, altough the engine sometimes chokes when I first start it in the morning. Strange side effect...

The "learning" is your ECU setting fuel trims and stuff. When you reset, it goes back to a default setting, which will get the engine running, but not running at its best. It takes a while to get everything back to normal after an ECU reset. If it doesn't go away after a few days of driving the car, then you might have other problems.

This might seem like a stupid question, but did you push the plug back all the way in?
I unplugged it too w/ no problem. The last person who had a problem with this restarted their car first, then realizes he had forgotten to plug it back in and had to resett the ECU.
That must be it, I didn't start my car but I did turn to accessory to make sure that the new bulbs worked before I pluged the sensor harness in....I took my car to a local goodyear dealer and they hooked it up to there computer and shut the engine light off for me, since I get my oil changes and stuff there. FYI...according to the onwners manual you should never disconnect the battery unless necessary to change out....I guess resetting the ECU in the "learn" mode isn't alway's reliable...might have future problems if it doesn't reset to factory specs...that's what my local dealer told me on the phone also.
