weird idle (not startup)

Any have weird idle rpms? not when starting up but I was driving around today and when I came to a stop I noticed that my rpms went to 700 normal. but then shot up to 1200 or so then back down. before that when I was driving I felt like it was happening to, welt kinda laggy then normal, once i parked I sat there for a couple minutes and it only did it once. any ideas? and as for the whole idleing problem/issue is does mitsu have any recommendations/recalls for that or is that just the nature of the 4g69 engine?

Was your air conditioning on?

Might have been that cycling.

none, completly stock, gona wiat a year or two before I start moding. It was a choice between a Ralliart or my long time love of a WRX. And scense I couldn't aford a wrx with my money down I went with the ralliart. I love the ralliart but never know what the future holds. dont want to drop tones of cash into when I might not have it in a couple years.

Is the spark problem you referred to the complaint on that website about getting a static shock? Cause that has nothing to do with the motor, or the electrical system.

Not sure about your problem. I was going to say it was the A/C...
As for the other idle problem. Are you talking about the cold start idle? If so, that isn't a problem. All cars misfire slightely while they are cold. The difference with the RA is that we can notice the roughness.
Static shock when getting out of the car? Oddly enough, that has never happened with my RA, although it happens all the time with our Trailblazer. Maybe Mitsu put a coating on the seats?

idle

I have been having the same problem. I noticed it more after putting on my CAI?
Doesn't seem to happen with any specific accessory on (ac on or not, defrost on or not?)
If I give it a quick shot of throttle it evens out, like a old carb.
Seems to happen more at a stop sign sitting for more than 3 seconds?

I am going to check with the dealer today to see if there are any TSB's or SSM's
Tech Service Bullitins or Special Service Messages.

just a little info...When you have the defrost on (the knob turned all the way to the right) it turns on the AC without turning the AC light on. I've noticed the ups and downs in the RPMs while idling with the AC or defrost on.

yeah i usally put it on defrost/floor but i noteced that the a/c light isnt on, thats why i thought it was no the a/c kicking in but from what i know when ever you use defrost it uses a/c.. right? beacuse i defintly notice a power decress when defrost is on

could always install a ground wire kit (20 bucks on ebay) that will help smooth your idle out and give you a little more throtle response too.
