guages?

Im thinking about filling that expansion slot below the AC controls /w a few gauges. It looks like 3 should fit just fine /w the carbontrix insert.

As far as buying gauges goes, what should I look for and avoid? Typically, which is better: digital or analog? Do brands really matter? I see some go for $75+ for each gauge, and some go for under $10 /w all the fittings! The cheapos look pretty good, too!

I have the oem ones and they were a breeze to install cause of the directions that came with them. Autometer makes really good ones and would go with them first before anybody else. But unfortunately the oem ones cost an a$$load but they fit really well. I would think 3 of the smallest gauges you could buy would still be a tad too big for the opening, but wtf do i know? If you think you could get them to fit with the cf cubby hole cover id say go for it, you arent gonna know unless u try.

A guy has a TON of 'ACTRON' guages on eBay for dirt cheap. See this:

I can get a set for under $20! Any reason not to give this a try. The guages are 2" diam and can be taken out of the cheapo housing they come in. I think 3 of these may JUST fit. If it comes to it, I can always go super rice and get a pillar for my nearly-stock car

I like the electronic gauges because you only have to run wires into the passenger compartment. I've been thinking about putting in an oil pressure gauge, since the car doesn't come with one. If I do, it'll be electronic, so I don't have a pressurized oil line running into the car. Imagine if that sucker leaked.

If you have the cash go with Defi guages. Theyre pricey but well worth the money, very accurate and they dont break. Look great as well.

my analog style oil gauge doesn't have an oil line coming into the car. Most newer oil pressure gauges don't do this because it comes with a sender you have to put into the oil pump and run a single wire insdie the car.
