Turned Injen CAI into SRI

I never liked the way that I had to rig up the injen CAI because I bought it before I knew it was for 5 speed only. So I turned it into a short-ram style by putting the filter element onto the first part before the major downward bend. I thought the temp of my car would increase, but it actually has gone down a tiny bit from where it was with the original set up. The sound is a little better, but you can definitely not feel any difference in power. The actual mesh wire around the K+N filter gets pretty hot, but I don't forsee that being a problem. Just thought I would let you guys know.

Sure, but it looks just like a polished version of the RRM short ram intake, except it is a pipe mandarel bent to almost a 90 degree angle that is attached to the throttle body by a silicone coupling, not the rubber hose that came with the car. The RRM short intake is meant more for that type of application, but for people like me who ordered the Injen thinking it would fit the automatic, this is another option.

I drove my car around for a week with SRI it was pretty good the throttle response is far better than with the cold air extension on. I would be weary of the heat though it points directly at the exhaust manifold. I plan on also switching to SRI once winter hits.

The injen is designed to be turned into SRI you don't need to cut anything.
It's a two piece intake.
