Couple of questions

I am in the market for a new car.
What are the pros and cons to this car? I want the Lancer Ralliart...did this car come out in 03 or 04? How has this car handled performance wise? Do you think it will be a reliable car for the next 5 or more years? I know it says that the RA has between 160-170HP, but have any of you actually gone and Dynoed the car?
Is there a major difference between the OZ and RA? Or any of the other models other than the Evo of course (out of price range)

Basically sell me on this car, im going to go test drive the RA tomorrow and want to know as much as i can about this car before i decide i want to buy it. Thanks

go to that for a full review

also, i've read around the forums and the most common number for a base ralliart is 145 whp, which is more than the oz is posted at before the wheels

Thank you.
Also what are you guys/gals paying as far as insurance goes? I've got 1 ticket and had an accident about 2 years ago. Im 22 and married, im going to call my insurance company to get an accurate quote but i'd like to see some of your numbers and if your insurance agency is charging you for a sport coupe or a sedan.

The test drive is all you will need, the car will sell its self to you.

I absolutely LOVE my RA.

My fiance has an 02 OZ. The OZ rides a little easier but does not perform as well.

The RA has upgraded suspension (stiffer), body kit, has the MIVEC & and EVO shifter.

Try to see if they will throw in some different tires for you if you buy it. The stock rubber totally sucks. Try to get performance rubber put on it as part of the deal. Or you could just go aftermarket with 17s or 18s and better rubber. (I put on Proxes FZ4s & 17" Enkies)

If your in Southern California, there is a guy on this board that is selling the RA for very cheap. I don't remember exactly how much, but it was pretty cheap.

You should post back with your impression of the RA after you test drive one.

Good luck and happy hunting!

Rob

From what I have experienced here are my pros and cons

Pros

1)Acceleration
2)Sound system (with sun and sound package)
3)Head and leg room is SUPERB
4)Suede-like seats
5)Handling is great, but even better with a couple mods like progress sway bar, springs, PDX's lower tie bar etc.

Cons
1)Semi-rough drive
2)Small gas tank

Those are about all the cons I can think of

I love my RA. It is much better than the OZ (no offense). It performs very well in its class and for the money. I find that it handles like a sports coupe without all the head aches (small back seat, extremly harsh ride).
The seats are very nice, sporty steering feel, excellent brakes, nice stiff body. All season tires kinda suck, but I can't do anything (I live where there is winter most of the year).
Nice rims already. Excellent sound system (sun and sound). I personally love how they look but for some reason many, MANY people here do not like how they look. Seems most people are hung up with the grill/headlights. Both very minor "problems." It isn't as though this is an Aztec or Gremlin.
Drive it and you will love it.
